Let your child help you put together their birthday party invitations. This is a great way to spend some quality time with your child. You'll both have fun and together you'll be making precious memories that will last a lifetime. Pirate's Treasure Map Your party guests will really get into your kid birthday party Pirate theme when you send them an invitation that looks like an old Pirate Treasure map. Take a brown paper bag and cut it into a square. Then, with a black marker write something like "Captain__________'s (insert your birthday child's name) treaure map"... "Ye be invited to a swash-buckling good time matey"... (then give the party date, time, length of the party and any other details) then close the invitation by saying something like..."If ye dare, ye be findin the party by followin this here treasure map... And remember me buckos "X" marks the spot!". The map is actually directions to your party location and the "X" is the actual birthday party address. Then crumble up the paper so your map looks old and mail it to your guest. You can even be creative with the envelope. Pirate Treasure Map Add some fun to your Pirate Party Invitation buy constructing another treasure map for a real treasure hidden somewhere at your party location. Cut this map up into puzzle pieces (one for each child you're inviting). Include a piece of the treasure map in the envelope and instruct your guests to bring thier piece of the treasure map to the party. When your guests arrive, have them put their puzzle pieces together, then they can all hunt for the treasure you've hidden. For treasure, put some chocolate coins (always a big hit with our kids) in a box and hide them somewhere for your guests to find together with their map. *A Tip From Grandpa Mike
Be sure and make a copy of the treasure map just in case a guest doesn't show up or someone forgets their piece of the treasure map... Have fun! A Magic Birthday Party Invitation
The kids on your child's birthday invitation list will have fun doing this "magic trick". Using black paper, draw the outline of a magician's top hat (not too big, you're going to be sinding this through the mail). Now cut out a second top hat. Then, use scissors to cut out your top hat. Now cut out a small slit just below the brim of both your top hats. Using white paper, draw the outline of a bunny rabbit, leaving a small "finger" on top of the rabbit (I'll explain in a moment). Make your rabbit small enough to fit in your top hat. Now cut out your rabbit. Write your child's birthday party invitation on the rabbit. Now that you've written your invitation, hold your top hat upside down, then place your bunny rabbit on the hat so the finger is sticking out through the slit. Also make sure the rabbit can easily slide through the slit in your top hats. Now put just a little glue around the edge of one top hat, keep your rabbit in the center of the hat on the same side where you put the glue, making sure the "small finger" is sticking out of the slit. Then take your second top hat and lay it on top of the first hat. Make sure the finger on your rabbit is sticking through the slit in both hats. Press on the edges of the second hat to make sure the glue sticks. Let the glue dry. Once the glue has dried, hold the top hat upside down and pull on the white paper finger until your bunny rabbit "magically" appears from the hat! Here's a super fun gift just for you!
